Our very own Paul Venables took the stage this week at Advertising Week on a panel dissecting creative leadership. Along with great advice from creative heads at BBH, Wieden + Kennedy, TBWA\Chiat Day and AKQA, Paul shared his take on leadership with the audience: it's not about ideas or wit or being cool, it's about good old-fashioned values like compassion, empathy, sincerity and honesty. Paul paraphrased Maya Angelou and how her wisdom can be translated to managing creatives: "People aren't going to remember what you said. They're not even going to remember what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel. And that's how you manage, from that standpoint." Adweek liked what Paul and the panel had to say so much, they wrote about it here.
