Tonight Google Fiber will harness the power of speed to make 13-year-old baseball fan Nick LeGrande's big league dreams come true. Nick, who is suffering from a life-threatening blood disorder, will throw the first pitch from his hometown Kansas City 1,800 miles away to here in Oakland before the A's compete against the New York Yankees. All thanks to the help of a robotic pitching machine powered by Google Fiber to mark the first time in history someone will throw a first pitch from out of state. To learn more about this event and how Google Fiber, along with Children's Mercy Hospital, made it happen, check out g.co/nicksfirstpitch and celebrate this achievement via #NicksFirstPitch.
