Racism is a problem in our world, in our country, throughout the business community and in our industry. We condemn all racism in all its forms and stand in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The injustices faced by Black people in our country, from our racially biased justice system, to the inequitable incarceration of Black people, have been prevalent for far too long. The recent murders of Black human beings including, but not limited to, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and many others, both currently and before this overdue heightened awareness, shine a harsh light on systematic racism and violence, and should be an ignition to spring us all into action.

We must all stand in solidarity against racial injustice and move with intent and focus. We are committed to understanding and helping provide solutions and to joining forces with all people, businesses and institutions to work for positive change throughout society.

We want to be part of that change. We know that there have been issues in our agency and are diligently working to correct our mistakes. We promise to listen to the lived experience of people without imposing our own biases, have difficult conversations, reflect on the role we have played in this ongoing injustice and to take action.

To start, we have offered to use our creative talents to fight racism, both with nonprofit organizations and through our clients. And for our own agency, we are taking both immediate and long-term steps to fight racism and install fair, equitable and accountable systems around:

  1. Recruitment and Hiring Practices
  2. Production and Casting
  3. Social Responsibility Initiatives and Programming
  4. Internal Education and Learning Development
  5. Partnerships
  6. Internal Discrimination Policies
  7. Re-creating our Goals and Metrics to Ensure Racial Equity in Our Company

We hope that you will join us on our journey to help create an anti-racist society and workplace that is welcoming to all people, regardless of race, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation.

Sincerely and with Intention,

Venables Bell + Partners
